Why these rebate programs exist
Rocky Mountain Power and Enbridge Gas pay these rebates because high-efficiency equipment is good for homeowners and for the whole community.
- 1
Cuts upfront installation costs
Rebates directly lower the price of high-efficiency heat pumps and air conditioners, making top-tier equipment far more affordable.
- 2
Saves money on monthly utility bills
High-efficiency HVAC systems use significantly less energy, cutting heating and cooling costs all year.
- 3
Improves year-round comfort
Modern high-efficiency equipment gives you precise temperature control, quieter operation and better humidity control through Utah’s summer heat and winter cold.
- 4
Keeps local power rates stable
Cutting the heavy energy spikes on hot summer afternoons protects the power grid from outages and delays expensive utility upgrades, which helps keep rates lower for the whole community.
Who qualifies for Wattsmart rebates
There are only three requirements, and when Eco Home does your install, we take care of the last two.
- 1
You’re a Rocky Mountain Power customer
The rebate is for homes that get their electricity from Rocky Mountain Power.
- 2
A licensed, verified contractor installs it
Eco Home is licensed and verified, and we’re a Wattsmart Pro Network contractor, one of Rocky Mountain Power’s highest-rated contractors.
- 3
The equipment meets the efficiency requirements
The system has to meet the program’s minimum efficiency and ENERGY STAR requirements. Every heat pump we install qualifies.
Why these rebates are worth it
Premium equipment for the price of standard
Rebates often bring a premium heat pump system down to about the cost of a standard, low-efficiency system.
Free cash, not a loan
It’s money from Rocky Mountain Power that you never pay back.
Vetted, ENERGY STAR certified equipment
If a system qualifies for a Wattsmart or ThermWise rebate, the program has already checked that it’s high-quality, ENERGY STAR certified equipment.
The best incentive left for new HVAC
With the federal tax credit for heat pumps and furnaces gone, utility rebates are now the best incentive available for high-quality equipment.
Get the most back
A heat pump with a gas furnace earns the biggest rebates
A dual-fuel system, a heat pump paired with a gas furnace, is the most efficient way to heat and cool a Utah home for the cost. It’s also the setup that qualifies for the highest rebates, because it can earn from both Rocky Mountain Power and Enbridge Gas.

Red flags to watch for
If you’re getting quotes from other contractors, watch for these.
- The equipment doesn’t qualify for rebatesDon’t settle for equipment that doesn’t qualify for Rocky Mountain Power or Enbridge Gas rebates. Take advantage of them while they’re here.
- The contractor never mentions rebatesThat’s a sign the contractor is more focused on selling lower-quality equipment than on getting you the best value.
- The contractor won’t guarantee the rebatesIt’s the contractor’s job to know what qualifies and what doesn’t, not the homeowner’s.
- The contractor won’t file the rebates for youRebate paperwork can be complicated. Leave it to us. We file it on every install.
