The 2026 Guide to Utah HVAC Rebates: How to Save Thousands This Year

March 30, 2026 · Eco Home Heating & Cooling

Amana heat pump and furnace ready for a rebate-qualified install, with the Eco Home van

If you are a Utah homeowner, you know our weather is anything but consistent. From freezing January nights in American Fork to 100°F July afternoons in the Salt Lake Valley, your HVAC system is the hardest-working part of your home.

As 2026 heads into winter, energy costs and equipment standards keep changing. The good news is that 2026 is still a great year to save on a new system. The federal tax credit for heat pumps and furnaces (25C) ended after December 31, 2025, so there is no federal tax credit for these systems in 2026. But Rocky Mountain Power's Wattsmart program and Enbridge Gas ThermWise incentives are still paying real money. At Eco Home, we don't just install high-efficiency equipment. We guarantee the rebates on every heat pump install, show them on your final estimate, and file the paperwork for you.

1. Dual Fuel: Utah's Best Way to Save

A dual-fuel system combines an inverter heat pump with a natural gas furnace. It gives you efficient electric cooling and heating in mild weather, with reliable gas heat for the coldest nights. It's the system we recommend for most Utah homes, and it's the setup that qualifies for both utility rebates. Our complete dual-fuel systems start at $9,990 after incentives.

Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart Rebates

  • Heat pumps: $1,450 on every heat pump install. We're a Wattsmart Pro Network contractor. See Wattsmart details.
  • Ductless mini-splits: perfect for primary suites, basements or garage conversions, with Wattsmart rebates of $600 to $1,700.

Enbridge Gas ThermWise Rebates

Stacking It All Up

The Eco Home Edge: Wattsmart and ThermWise together add up to a guaranteed $2,150 to $2,450 on a dual-fuel heat pump install. Add manufacturer dealer rebates ($400 to $2,000, taken right off the invoice, depending on current offers) and total savings can reach up to $4,450.

2. High-Efficiency Gas Furnaces

A gas furnace is still a staple for Utah homes, and it's the backbone of every dual-fuel system we install. An older 80% AFUE furnace loses 20 cents of every dollar of gas you buy, while a 96%+ furnace turns almost all of it into heat for your home.

The furnace you choose also affects your ThermWise rebate when it's paired with a heat pump: $700 with an 80% furnace and $1,000 with a 96%+ furnace. Our furnace replacements start at $3,990, usually installed in one day, with an 80% or 96%+ furnace depending on the home.

3. Why Eco Home Is Utah's Rebate Specialist

Navigating SEER2, HSPF2 and AHRI certificates is a headache. We've built our process to be hands-off for the homeowner:

  • Guaranteed rebates: your rebates are shown on the final estimate, so you know your numbers before we start.
  • We file the paperwork: no hunting for forms or figuring out which certificate goes where.
  • $0 down, 0% interest for 12 months: financing through Slice by FNBO Bank, subject to credit approval, so you don't have to wait on rebate checks to get comfortable.
  • The Smile Guarantee: one year on workmanship. We also pull a permit on every job, haul away the old equipment, and leave your home cleaner than we found it.
  • Licensed, verified contractor: using one is a requirement to receive these rebates, and we're a Wattsmart Pro Network contractor. DIY or unverified installs don't qualify.

Who Qualifies

  • You're a Rocky Mountain Power or Enbridge Gas customer.
  • The work is done by a licensed, verified contractor.
  • The equipment meets minimum efficiency and ENERGY STAR requirements.
